It’s easy to reach one’s full potential in conducive environments. “Our campus has a peaceful environment due to the lack of busy roads or tall buildings nearby,” she says. “Instead, we have a river and willow trees which makes walking around campus really relaxing.” Indeed, it’s an institution most struggle to say goodbye to — something Jemima has had to do this year, recently graduating as a member of the Class of 2023. She’s been accepted to study the Liberal Arts at Loughborough University, University of East Anglia, University of Nottingham, Keele University and the University of Exeter.
Jemima, a half-British and half-Malaysian student, has attended Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi since its founding in 2016. Here, the charms of the Spanish language, with its rich history and diverse dialects, captivated her — so much so that she plans to pursue it further at university. Meanwhile, Geography's interdisciplinary nature allowed her to explore a wide range of topics. Throughout, she received unwavering support from her class mentor, Ms. MacSweeney, who was always around to uplift the student and guide her through both academic and personal issues.
As a Sports Science student, Jemima benefited greatly from the school’s facilities. Whether practising for practical exams in the sports hall or utilising the Olympic-sized swimming pool, the extensive range of equipment and facilities has been instrumental in her learning. Even the indoor cycling unit was a valuable resource for an IB research project.
