“Looking back, working at the ISSS office has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my time at CSU. I found it incredibly fulfilling to provide guidance, support, and resources to students experiencing many of the same difficulties I had faced when I first arrived. The work built my confidence, as I was able to take on responsibilities such as organising events, managing communications, and assisting students one-on-one.
I also took part in several experiential learning opportunities during my time at CSU, but internships stood out the most. They provided me with the perfect balance of earning while learning, as I was able to apply the theories I learned in class to real-world situations. I did an internship with a media company, where I worked on social media campaigns and content creation. I gained hands-on experience and got to meet and work alongside professionals in the field, which was inspiring. What made the internships even more rewarding was the opportunity to develop new skills that were directly tied to my future career.
After graduating, I applied for OPT and started working in the media. I’m continuing to explore new job opportunities, learn new languages, and consider pursuing a master’s degree in business or marketing.”
