Experiential, world-changing programmes
Quinnipiac’s mechanical, civil, industrial, and software engineering programmes are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology or ABET, as it’s known now. This signifies that they meet the highest standards of engineering education in the country. Similarly, the BS in Computer Science programme is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET.

“In all of our computing programmes, we hope to instil advanced knowledge of computing skills, ethical behaviour in the profession, and a dedication to lifelong learning so that our students will always be up-to-date with new technology,” says Brian O'Neill, Interim Associate Dean and Associate Professor of Computer Science.
Projects are a big part of these programmes. Last year, two seniors developed an interface that allows people with limited mobility in their hands to operate a mouse by blinking or winking their eyes. Another team created a VR/AR space that a local healthcare provider will be using to ensure their staff is regularly recertified. “Quinnipiac University’s relationship with local companies like Hartford Healthcare have led to opportunities like the VR/AR senior project described above,” says O'Neill. “Students in the Software Engineering programme are required to have a professional development experience (typically an internship); these are highly encouraged, but not required, in Computer Science. Recently, we’ve had students do internships at companies like Salesforce and DraftKings!”
There are endless ways to find what moves you at CSU. The university is home to over 500 student organisations, ranging from academic/pre-professional to social and recreational. Athletics are a big thing here as well – CSU has produced 21 NFL draft picks since 2020, and sports such as volleyball, track and field, and soccer are played at a highly competitive level.
International students become Rams too -- from as early as day one. Here, they celebrate festivities like Holi, which includes an annual fundraiser color run in partnership with the Indian Student Association and raises scholarship funds for peers in need.
Meanwhile, the World Unity Fair is an event everyone looks forward to all year. Students and faculty come together to host cultural booths, stage performances and organise an international bazaar -- showcasing elements of their countries and cultures in ways that are meaningful to them.

“The World Unity Fair at CSU is a true celebration of international cultures from around the world,” says Greg Wymer, the director of International Student and Scholar Services.
Hear from the students
A lot of the professors are very supportive. Especially as an international student, when you come here, you face a lot of cultural barriers. But also academically, it’s so much different from what you have experienced back at home. So, when you come here and talk to your professors, they are very supportive and understanding.
– Divisha Khadka
CSU is amazing in general, but one thing that stands out to me is the community. Not only my peers, like my friends and the people who live in my hall, but also the faculty, the professors. Everyone here is always supportive. It’s just a really great community.
– Mariana Restrepo
One of the best parts of CSU is the professors here. In my department, we’re really small, so the connection and interactions between professors are really one to one. So I have opportunities to connect more individually with the professors.
