Stories like Poudel’s are common at Charles Sturt. The university is the #1 university in Australia for nursing graduates, with 93% of undergraduates scoring full-time employment within four months of completing their programme; this outcome is easy to understand, considering Charles Sturt’s reputation and history of graduating industry-ready nurses for over 40 years.
“In Nepal, we didn’t have the resources necessary,” says Poudel. “Here, we have modern clinical labs, a good learning environment, and tutors ready to help with any queries. I’m fortunate to be able to study here and pursue my dream course.”

“Charles Sturt University is a good place for you to start your nursing journey or explore future careers, further studies, etc. It has good career opportunities for all.”
Aakriti Poudel took an interest in nursing from a young age, after receiving surgery on her hand in a hospital back home in Nepal. She remembered the doctors and nurses being kind and compassionate. “What happened was that the doctor actually discounted my medical fees, and he told my mother to invest the money into my studies,” shares Poudel, who is now pursuing a Bachelor of Nursing at Charles Sturt. “Nursing is kind, compassionate, loving, and caring – I couldn’t imagine myself being in any other profession.”
Charles Sturt is known as one of the largest providers of postgraduate IT education in Australia, complete with programmes fully accredited by the Australian Computer Society. You’ll learn from academics who bring extensive industry experience to the classroom, and who are committed to making your learning industry relevant and aligned with today's – and tomorrow's – IT trends.

“The thing about the MPIT programme is that there is industry experience involved,” says Mohsin, who enjoyed the extensive, work-integrated learning process. “I’ve been doing work placements, which have prepared me for a job; software development is especially interesting because it’s the type of thing you can do anywhere, from any part of the world.”
Many graduates are optimistic about their future, having seen and experienced what regional Australia offers: a vibrant lifestyle, picturesque locations, and seemingly boundless opportunities. Just ask Shahwal Mohsin, who completed his Master of Professional Information Technology in 2023 – he is now a Google Ads Specialist for Cloud Concepts Web Development in Australia.

Due to Australia's ageing population and the industry's organic growth, there is an increasing demand for highly educated and adaptable medical radiation science professionals. “We have many people within the academic staff who are current or recent practitioners, and are able to teach current skills with current equipment to our Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science students,” says Andrew Kilgour, a Medical Imaging lecturer.
Charles Sturt is the first regional university to offer a degree in Medical Radiation Science and to give students the option to choose from three specialisations: nuclear medicine and molecular imaging, diagnostic radiography, or radiation therapy. You’ll enrol directly into your specialisation while building a strong foundation of core knowledge right from day one.
“What I like about the teaching staff in my discipline is that they’re very hands-on and that they care about our learning,” says graduate Kirstie Lenton.
Graduates like Lenton are versatile, qualifying for roles such as diagnostic radiographer, nuclear medicine technologist, radiation therapist, or medical radiation scientist.

As climate change intensifies, agriculture is one of the most rapidly transforming fields of study in the 21st century. It’s no surprise that there is now a high demand for skilled professionals to develop ethical and sustainable food production systems to support the world’s growing populations. Charles Sturt understands that and offers a comprehensive Bachelor of Agriculture for those interested in joining the industry.
“The career opportunities in agriculture are really quite amazing,” says Dr. Jeff McCormick, Associate Head of the School of Agricultural, Environmental and Veterinary Sciences. “I’ve had companies come to me directly and say, ‘can we get your graduates?’”
This programme covers all major disciplines that underpin modern agricultural industries. In some of Australia's best agricultural teaching and research facilities, including Charles Sturt’s 2,000-hectare Global Digital Farm, you’ll learn about practical issues facing modern agriculture, producers, agribusiness and the environment within an institute known for its strong academic reputation. Charles Sturt has long been recognised as a world leader in agricultural education, and is the largest provider of such in Australia.
