Nurturing minds, building leaders and cultivating compassion

Founded in 2002, Boston Trinity Academy offers many benefits — a challenging American curriculum, a campus close to vibrant downtown Boston, and an expansive line-up of fun and exciting co-curricular activities.

Perhaps most important to students is the welcoming international community and inspiring teaching. As they interact with peers from around the world, their minds are opened to the importance of empathy and an appreciation of differences. They are encouraged to be broad-minded and compassionate, to approach life with a sense of intentionality and engagement, and to take responsibility for and contribute to their community through servant leadership.

Students at Boston Trinity Academy learn to engage the world with curiosity and purpose. Through rigorous scholarship, they seek more than answers — they want true understanding. They rise to the challenge of demanding academics, seeking to grow in each discipline.

Enriching academics

Student workload increases gradually from Grades 6 to 8, equipping them to enter the Upper School prepared to manage time well and prioritize the options offered at Boston Trinity’s first-rate high school program. The Middle School curriculum emphasizes fundamental skills such as grammar usage, essay writing, and public speaking. Teachers and faculty advisors help middle school students maintain a healthy balance between academics, sports and life outside school. Small class sizes and specialist teachers allow students to receive individualized support where needed. Afterschool homework labs and subject-specific tutoring further support Middle School students. Boston Trinity believes that a love for learning is central to academic excellence.

One way we help to facilitate this love of learning in Middle School is through the Horizons program. Horizons enables Middle School students to have choice in what they study. It offers an opportunity to learn in ways besides typical classes and allows students to engage more creatively with the world in which they live. Students in grades 7 and 8 choose from the following list: Living Lab, Drama, Model UN, Robotics (different from team), Music, Art History, Argument, Ceramics, Podcasting/Journalism.

The dedicated and highly qualified Boston Trinity faculty encourages students to acquire knowledge and guides them in exploring the principles of truth, beauty, and wisdom within a curriculum that integrates faith and learning. From their Grade 9 Humanities class to their Senior Symposium project, Upper School students are empowered to transform their inquiries into meaningful and creative contributions.

The school's goal is to ensure that all graduates attend four-year colleges, and it provides thorough preparation for their success. The school's College Counselors is available to students from Grade 9, and a comprehensive college counseling program is in place for Grades 11 and 12. Additionally, each student must demonstrate their readiness for college by taking at least three of the 16 AP (Advanced Placement) courses offered.

Life beyond classrooms

Senior Symposium

A Boston Trinity Academy education culminates with the Senior Honors Symposium. This course requires students to spend the year researching a justice-related problem they choose themselves and analyzing it through two lenses: moral philosophy and Christian ethics. Seniors write a 25-page paper addressing the problem and, at the end of the year, present and defend their work before an invited panel of judges from the Boston academic and professional communities. Senior Symposium is a collegiate-level seminar. This is not a research course for the sake of research but rather a key opportunity for the school to allow its greatest ideas and deepest joys to meet the world’s greatest needs.

I came to Boston Trinity Academy during the seventh grade from Colombia, understanding little to no English. At the beginning of middle school, it was hard for me to connect with my classmates. However, as time went on, I felt the warmth and love BTA radiates towards everyone and everything in this community. Teachers reached out to me, helping me integrate into the school and the culture. My classmates welcomed me even if I did not understand what they said to me, but the welcoming energy was there. Even though I still consider Colombia my true home, I can say with confidence I have found a second one that I will cherish and remember with fond memories after I graduate.

It was interesting to see how much the people at Boston Trinity Academy care about everybody because in France, it’s not the same. I’m gonna miss that a lot. I think the best part about learning in such a diverse school is that even religion is approached in a very open way.

Boston Trinity Academy has made a huge impact on me. The connection with God that the teachers practice and inspire us to follow has really made me feel closer to God. Learning in a diverse, cross-cultural school also made it a lot easier for me to improve my speaking skills.
