Growing up in Dubai, every hotel stay and restaurant visit deepened Fathima's appreciation for the people working behind the scenes to create memorable guest experiences. That admiration eventually inspired her to pursue a career in hospitality.
“I decided to apply to AIHM’s BBA because the programme is professionally oriented, with pathways to further education, internships, and an environment of academic and social excellence,” she says.
“Through this experience, we faced various challenges, particularly in collaboration,” she shares. “It reflects real life because it requires flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively in a team, even when things do not go exactly as planned.”
Among the experiences that shaped her learning, the Integrated Hospitality Project (IHP) stands out. In their sixth semester, BBA students work as consultants for a hospitality client — typically a hotel within Minor Hotels' portfolio — to tackle real business challenges. Projects include operational improvements, sustainability initiatives, branding, training programmes, and future business strategies.
